Position
Executive Chef

Job Description
Supervise and administer all phases of kitchen operations, including food purchase and selection; preparation and menu planning, supervision of staff and coordination of kitchen service with other departments. Responsible for the production of high quality food products at a cost level consistent with management objectives.

Specific Responsibilities

Supervise food preparation, cost quality, quantity inventories, portion control menu planning, recipes and testing of samples submitted by purchasing department; plan monthly kitchen budget
Establish and supervise job methods and cooking standards to maintain a high quality of food and service
Develop standard recipes for all dishes to ensure proper portion control, uniformity of taste and quality; test new products on the market, recipes and formulas
Develop new cooking methods for improvement of cuisine; maintain contact with other chefs and visits other kitchens to keep abreast of new development of food and equipment
Interview and hire applicants for employment; responsible for training program and proper placement of employees; set up work schedules and job requirements
Prepare inventories, budget forecast and may revise work schedules for each week; report on daily payrolls overtime, absenteeism and accidents'
Order necessary items and inspect such foods as meat, fish and vegetables received from markets
Assist line cooks during peak hours
Work with other departments to coordinate special functions and outings.

Webmaster / Graphic Designer

Piedras y Olas, A Pelican Eyes Resort is seeking an experienced webmaster/graphic designer to join our team. Candidates should have a proven experience in web development and online digital marketing, knowledge of HTML/JavaScrip/AJAX and Adobe Photoshop experience. Travel Industry and photography experience highly desirable. Bilingual applicants strongly encouraged to apply.

This position will be responsible for the following:

Web Maintenance

Support and maintain a progressive and professional internet image for Piedras y Olas and advance the website as a forerunner in the hospitality sector.
Develop written content for website on a regular schedule that supports the marketing and sales goals while preserving the brand integrity.
Integrate the website with an online booking system.
Investigate new opportunities to drive online conversions.
Create and monitor search engine optimization campaigns as well as organic search results.
Manage email marketing campaign via Constant Contact.
Support Marketing Team with independent web Project Management.
Manage Social Networking campaign, including, but not limited to Twitter, Facebook Digg, and blogs.

Graphic Design

Create consistent advertising campaigns (across print and web) for hotel events and activities
Design general, spa, events, and other brochures for hotel
Craft in-house publications (menus, in-room advertisements, table tents, etc.)
