What's New at Pelican Eyes

Senior Citizen Luncheon at Pelican Eyes

Pelican Eyes Hotel and Resort would like to extend a tremendous thank you to the A. Jean Brugger Foundation for their partnership and support in the recent Ancianos Luncheon hosted here at the hotel. We would also like to thank Clover Bay, Senor Felix Guevara, Roberto Fajardo, Barrio Café, Eskimo, Coca Cola, and  Cerveceria Nacional for their generous donations and Ralph and Renda Hewitt of  Park Avenue Villas for their time and energy. Over 200 senior citizens from the San Juan del Sur community enjoyed lunch, music, dancing, and Mother's and Father's Day gifts, compliments of the above sponsors.

Working with Paso Pacifco on Conservation

Pelican Eyes Hotel and Resort is working in collaboration with Paso Pacifico, with support from the Nicaraguan Ministry of the Environment, to reestablish populations of native Green Iguanas in the natural habitats surrounding San Juan del Sur, educate visitors and local population about the valuable role that these reptiles play, and the importance of wildlife protection.

Support Paso Pacifico's larger efforts to restore and connect the Paso del Istmo Biological Corridor as a model for conservation involving community and private sector partners by making a tax-deductible donation here.

Real Deal in Nicaragua

Once again San Juan del Sur and Pelican Eyes have been featured in international press! Read the article in The Calgary Sun!

"But in every corner of Nicaragua, there's something to be charmed by, whether it's the fabulous hilltop resort condo-hotel Pelican Eyes at San Juan del Sur, remote countryside villages and eco-lodges, colonial cities and towns, archeological relics or mystical, smoking volcanoes." Join the Social Media Revolution

Pelican Eyes Hotel & Resort is becoming part of the social media revolution by joining Twitter. According to a recent article in the New York Times, small businesses typically get more than half of their customers through word of mouth and Twitter is the digital manifestation of that. Twitter users broadcast messages of up to 140 characters in length, and the culture of the service encourages people to spread news to friends in their own network.  If you have a Twitter account, start following us at twitter.com/PelicanEyesRes

In addition to Twitter, information about the resort can be found on Facebook, Youtube, and the always dependable Pelican Eyes website.

Destination Weddings

Many couples are choosing to go abroad for their very special day. Our breathtaking views of the bay and our infamous sunset ceremony have become the chosen getaway. This year we have already held four sunset wedding ceremonies on our upper deck, poolside, overlooking the Pacific.

Many destination wedding packages have been developed to choose from, and include the option of a tradition ceremony in the local Catholic Church, on our upper deck at sunset and even the choice of a ceremony at sea on our very own Pelican Eyes sailboat!
